CMHE is proud to be participating in the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE. Uniting with others around the planet, congregations in the University District are holding a 24-hour vigil for peace on Thursday, September 21, 2006 with prayer times rotating from church to church, and a noon declaration of peace and press conference. All are welcome to participate during this prayerful, meditative time of "watching" and "wakefulness." CMHE will host the "Moving Vigil" from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Covenant House. The schedule for the Moving Vigil is as follows:
- Midnight to 3 am: University Temple United Methodist Church (1415 NE 43rd St.)
- 3 am to 6 am: Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church (5050 8th Ave NE)
- 6 am to 9 am: Chapel on the Ave (4130 University Way NE)
- 9 am to Noon: Christ Episcopal Church (4548 Brooklyn Ave NE)
- Take Part in a Public Witness for Peace from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm on the steps of University Congregational Church (4515 16th Ave NE). At precisely Noon, we will honor the GLOBAL MINUTE OF SILENT PRAYER FOR PEACE called for by the United Nations. It will be followed by presentation of the Declaration of Peace.

- 3 pm to 5 pm: CMHE Campus Ministries at Covenant House (4525 19th Ave NE)
- 5 pm to 7 pm: Brooklyn Avenue Vineyard (4142 Brooklyn Ave NE)
- 7 pm to 9 pm: University Christian Church / Disciples of Christ (4731 15th Ave NE)
- 9 pm to Midnight: University Lutheran Church (1604 NE 50th St)
